Week 9: Carson leads Mountain, Debbie Smith and Damonte tied atop Valley

Carson strengthened its hold on the Mountain Division with a 27‑18 win over Douglas in Week 9 of the High Desert Interscholastic Bowling Program. The Senators improved to 8‑1 with two weeks left in the regular season.

Douglas stayed in the hunt at 7‑2 despite the loss, while Manogue and Galena sit at 3‑6. North Valleys remains winless at 0‑9.

In the Valley Division, Debbie Smith and Damonte stayed locked in a first‑place tie at 7‑2. Debbie Smith earned a 31‑14 win over Spanish Springs, while Damonte edged Fernley 24‑21. Spanish Springs and Fernley are tied at 3‑6.

Manogue posted the week’s biggest point total with a 38‑7 win over North Valleys.
No new weekly high scores were reported, but season leaders continued to shine.

Douglas’ Colton Shaffer owns the top boys series at 753, followed by Douglas’ Rylan Bean at 701 and Galena’s Hudson Monroe at 681. On the girls side, Damonte Ranch’s Calista Sanchez leads with a 596 series, followed by Fernley’s Bailey Scogin at 591 and Fernley’s Addisyn Kibbe at 572.

The league returns to action Jan. 26‑27 at the National Bowling Stadium.
